PLAYGROUND

Players you remember, running a real engine.

Seven players rebuilt on EKO Web: gapless playlists, loudness normalization and a live analyser under skins you'll recognise. Each one runs the same library you install. Drop in your own files and listen to the seams.

  1. The EKO NB-124 Night Bus console: a drum machine above an eight-channel mixing desk, running
    NEW 07

    Night Bus console

    OPEN

A drum machine and an eight-channel desk. Program the Night Bus groove, then mix its stems on faders, each one an EKO engine locked to the beat. Swing, a tape echo and tempo changes that land on the phrase.

  2. EKO-AMP, a Winamp 2.x clone, playing
    01

    EKO-AMP

    OPEN

Winamp 2.x, pixel for pixel. Drag the windows, ride the 10-band EQ, drop in an album.

  3. EKO Classic, a click-wheel player, on Now Playing
    02

    iPod Classic

    OPEN

A click wheel you actually spin: browse, scrub and set the volume by turning it.

  4. EKO hi-fi 1978, a cassette deck, graphic EQ and amplifier stack, playing
    03

    Hi-fi 1978

    OPEN

Cassette deck, graphic EQ and amp. VU needles, tape hiss on demand, and every knob is live.

  5. The GT-1 gapless blind test, revealing a 3.1 ms gap from a bare audio tag
    04

    Gapless blind test

    OPEN

Two players, one track change. Guess which was EKO, then see the seam measured to the sample.

  6. EKO Visuals: an ember tunnel of orange and blue light swirling around the waveform
    05

    Visualiser

    OPEN

MilkDrop-style feedback in WebGL: eight presets that blend on the beat, all driven by the engine's analyser.

  7. EKO Mini Player on a rolling-hills desktop, with a now-playing tray balloon
    06

    XP mini player

    OPEN

A Luna-blue window, a tray balloon, and your keyboard's real media keys.

What this is

Toys with a point. Every player here drives the same engine you install, with no mocks underneath. The skins change; the playback doesn't.

Bring your own music

Each player plays a generated set out of the box. Drop audio files on any of them, or open some, and it plays them instead. Nothing is uploaded: the files never leave your browser.

The source

Every player is plain HTML and JavaScript, no build step, in examples/playground. Install the engine with npm install @rpxl/eko-web.
